How to choose a bearing type
When selecting a bearing type, it is crucial to have a thorough understanding of the conditions in which the bearing will be used.
Select the method:
1) The bearing installation space can be accommodated in the bearing installation space of the bearing type because the rigidity and strength of the shaft are paid attention to when designing the shaft system, so the shaft diameter is generally determined first, that is, the inner diameter of the bearing.
However, rolling bearings come in a variety of size series and types, and the most suitable bearing type should be selected from them.
2) The size, direction and nature of the load bearing load [the load capacity of the bearing is expressed by the basic rated load, and its value is contained in the bearing size table] The bearing load is variable, such as the size of the load, whether there is only a radial load, whether the axial load is unidirectional or bidirectional, the degree of vibration or shock, etc. After considering these factors, it is time to select the most suitable bearing type.
In general, the radial load capacity of bearings with the same bore increases in the following order: deep groove ball bearings< angular contact ball bearings< cylindrical roller bearings< tapered roller bearings< spherical roller bearings
3) The type of bearing whose rotation speed can adapt to the mechanical rotation speed [the limit value of the bearing speed is expressed by the limit speed, and its value is contained in the bearing size table] The ultimate speed of the bearing is not only taken from the bearing type, but also limited to the bearing size, cage type, accuracy level, load conditions and lubrication methods, etc., so these factors must be considered when selecting.
Most of the following bearings are used for high-speed rotation:
Deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings
4) Rotation accuracy: The type of bearing with the required rotation accuracy Machine tool spindle, gas turbine and control machine require high rotation accuracy, high speed and low friction respectively, so bearings with grade 5 accuracy or more should be used.
The following bearings are generally used:
Deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings
5) Bearing type whose rigidity meets the rigidity required for mechanical shafting In parts such as machine tool spindles and automobile final stage reduction devices, it is necessary to improve the rigidity of the shaft and the rigidity of the bearing.
The deformation of roller bearings is less than that of ball bearings.
Applying preload (negative clearance) to the bearing can improve stiffness. This method is suitable for angular contact ball bearings and tapered roller bearings.
6) Analyze the relative tilt between the inner ring and the outer ring of the bearing (such as the deflection of the shaft caused by the load, the poor accuracy of the shaft and the shell or the installation error), and select the type of bearing that can adapt to the conditions of use. If the relative inclination of the inner ring to the outer ring is too large, the bearing will be damaged due to the internal load. Therefore, a bearing type that can withstand this tilt should be selected.
In general, the permissible tilt angle (or spherical angle) is increased in the following order:
Cylindrical roller bearings, tapered roller bearings, deep groove ball bearings (angular contact ball bearings), spherical roller (ball) bearings
7) When the frequency of assembly and disassembly such as installation and disassembly periodic inspection and assembly and disassembly method are frequent, it is more convenient to use cylindrical roller bearings, needle roller bearings and tapered roller bearings that can be separated from the inner ring and outer ring.
Spherical ball bearings and spherical roller bearings with tapered bore can be easily assembled and disassembled by using fasteners or withdrawal sleeves.
