Lubrication plays an important role in the use of bearings

Lubrication plays an important role in the use of bearings, in many cases the damage of bearings is caused by poor lubrication, according to statistics, about 40% of bearing damage is related to poor lubrication. In order to make the bearing get a good lubrication method, the following bearing lubrication methods are summarized.

Bearing lubrication method:

1. Manual lubrication

This is the most primitive method, in the case of insufficient lubricating oil for the bearing, the oil is fed with a lubricator. But this method is difficult to keep the oil quantity certain, the danger of forgetting to refuel due to negligence is greater, usually only used for light load, low speed or intermittent movement of the occasion, the best time to operate, set up dust cap or ball valve on the refueling hole, and use felt, cotton, wool and so on as a filter device.

2. Drip point lubrication

It is usually used for light and medium load bearings with a circumferential speed of less than 4~5m/s, and supplies roughly quantitative lubricating oil from the container through holes, needles, valves, etc., the most classic is the drip oil cup, and the amount of dripping oil varies significantly with the viscosity of the lubricating oil, the bearing clearance and the position of the oil supply hole.

3. Oil ring lubrication

The ring that can be hung on the shaft and can rotate brings the lubricating oil of the oil pool to the bearing (can only be used for the lubrication method of the horizontal shaft), suitable for medium speed and high speed bearings with a shaft diameter greater than 50mm, the oil ring should be seamless, and when the width and diameter ratio of the bearing is less than 2, only one oil ring can be used, otherwise two oil rings are required.

Fourth, oil rope lubrication

Relying on the capillary tube and siphon action of the oil rope to lead the lubricating oil in the oil cup into the bearing, it is mainly used for light and medium load bearings with a circumferential speed of less than 4~5m/s, and the oil rope can play a role in filtering in the whole process.

5. Oil pad lubrication

Using the capillary action of the oil pad, the lubricating oil in the oil pool is applied to the surface of the shaft diameter, which can keep the friction surface clean at all times, but dust can also clog the pores and cause insufficient oil supply. The oil supply of oil pad lubrication is usually only 1/20 of that of oil lubrication.

6. Oil bath lubrication

This lubrication method immerses a part of the bearing in lubricating oil, which is often used for thrust bearings of vertical shafts, but not for radial bearings of horizontal shafts.

7. Splash lubrication

The lubricating oil that is splashed by the slapping of the rotating parts in the oil tank is fed to the bearings, and it is suitable for bearings at higher speeds.

8. Oil mist lubrication

Dry compressed air is mixed with lubricating oil through the sprayer to form an oil mist, which is sprayed into the motor bearing, and the air flow can effectively cool the bearing and prevent the invading of impurities. This method is suitable for the lubrication of high-speed and high-temperature bearing components.

9. Pressure oil supply lubrication

It is the most stable lubrication method with the largest oil supply and the most stable lubrication method for high-speed, heavy-duty and important plain bearings, which is supplied to the bearing by supplying oil to the bearing by the pressure of the lubrication pump and recovering the lubricating oil flowing from the bearing to the oil pool for recycling.

10. Circulating oil lubrication

The filtered oil is conveyed to the bearing parts by an oil pump, and the lubricating oil behind the bearing is filtered and cooled before use. Because the circulating oil can take away a certain amount of heat and cool the bearing, this method is suitable for bearing components with higher speeds.

11. High-pressure jet lubrication

The high-pressure oil is injected into the bearing through the nozzle with an oil pump, and the oil injected into the stainless steel bearing flows into the oil groove through the other end of the bearing. When the bearing rotates at high speed, the rolling elements and cage also form an airflow of the surrounding air at a fairly high rotation speed, and it is difficult to send the lubricating oil to the bearing by general lubrication methods, so the lubricating oil must be sprayed into the bearing by high-pressure injection method, and the position of the nozzle must be between the inner ring and the center of the cage.

Proper lubrication and regular maintenance can avoid bearing damage caused by lubrication problems.
