Performance characteristics of common bearing types

 

There are many types of bearings, and the common bearings in our daily life are: deep groove ball bearings, spherical roller bearings, angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings and thrust spherical roller bearings. In order to have a better understanding of the performance of these bearings, some performance characteristics of these bearings will be reflected in the use process.

 

Performance characteristics of deep groove ball bearings

a. Mainly bear radial load;

b. It can also bear a certain amount of axial load in either direction;

c. Low manufacturing cost;

d. Small running resistance and high limit speed;

e. High rotation accuracy;

f. Low noise and vibration;

g. It can be manufactured into sealed bearings.

 

Performance characteristics of spherical roller bearings

a. Low speed, shock resistance, vibration resistance;

b. It has the function of automatic self-alignment, that is, when the axis of the inner ring is inclined to the axis of the outer ring (generally within 3 degrees), it can still operate normally;

c. Mainly bear a large radial load;

d. It can also bear small axial load.

 

Angular contact ball bearings

a. Able to bear both radial and axial combined load or pure axial load;

b. The running resistance is small, and the limit speed is high;

c. High rotation accuracy;

d. Low noise and vibration;

e. Single-row angular contact ball bearings can only bear the axial force in one direction, and are usually used in pairs to balance the axial force.

 

Performance characteristics of cylindrical roller bearings

a. The speed is lower than that of ball bearings of the same size;

b. High precision;

c. Low noise and vibration;

d. Mainly bear radial load;

e. The inner and outer rings are flanged and can bear small axial loads.

 

Performance characteristics of thrust spherical roller bearings

a. Able to bear high axial load and moderate radial load;

b. The speed is low;

c. High rigidity and impact resistance;

d. The shaft washer is allowed to tilt;

e. High thrust carrying capacity and dynamic self-aligning ability.

 

We can choose the type of bearing to buy according to these performance points, and know the characteristics of different bearings to know what kind of bearings we need to use. Therefore, for some bearing merchants, the performance characteristics of the bearing type are very important.
