The advantages and disadvantages of of wind power main bearing
The main forms of spindle bearings used for megawatt wind turbines are 3-point bearing bearing design and 2-point bearing bearing design,Please check the below advantages and disadvantages of these bearing structure
Spherical roller bearings + spherical roller bearings
The advantages are that there is no or less load acting on the gearbox, while relying on the torsion arm to withstand less deformation, and assembly is relatively simple.
The disadvantages are as follows:
1) The axial clearance is relatively large, and the positioning of the hub in the axial direction is not good;
2) There is no preload on the main bearing, and the axial displacement is relatively large after loading, and at the same time, due to the lack of preload, a single roller may not rotate, which leads to sliding, which will produce a very large peak load and affect the life of the bearing;
3) The size of the shaft is small, and the influence of the load on the shaft is large.
Spherical roller bearings + cylindrical roller bearings
The advantages of this bearing construction are that there is no or less load acting on the gearbox, while relying on the torsion arm to withstand less deformation, and assembly is relatively simple.
The disadvantages are as follows:
1) The axial clearance is relatively large, and the positioning of the hub in the axial direction is not good;
2) There is no preload on the main bearing, and the axial displacement is relatively large after loading, and at the same time, due to the lack of preload, a single roller may not rotate, which leads to sliding, which will produce a very large peak load and affect the life of the bearing;
3) The size of the main frame is large or composed of multiple parts, resulting in the cost of the main frame is higher and the processing is more difficult;
4) Because cylindrical roller bearings are sensitive to the coaxiality and relative deflection of the inner and outer rings, they are poor in design or assembly
In this case, the radial clearance of spherical roller bearings will lead to damage to the cylindrical rollers;
5) Due to the relatively small size of the shaft and bearing, the overall stiffness of the shafting system is relatively low, and the load has a greater impact on the shaft.
Double row tapered roller bearings + cylindrical roller bearings
The main advantages of this bearing structure are:
1) There is no axial clearance, and the axial positioning is better;
2) The bearing capacity can be increased by increasing the distance between the bearings, and the applicable range of the bearings is larger;
3) The diameter of the shaft and bearing is smaller, and the cost is lower;
4) Due to the elimination of axial clearance, the overall stiffness of the shaft system is relatively high, and the dynamic load has little influence on it.
