Thrust bearing
Thrust bearing is a particular type of rotary bearing. Like other bearings they permanently rotate between parts, but they are designed to support a predominantly axial load.
Thrust bearings come in several varieties.
It consists of a washer-shaped raceway ring with raceways and a ball and cage assembly
The raceway ring that fits with the shaft is called the shaft ring, and the raceway ring that fits with the housing is called the seat ring. The two-way bearing fits the secret shaft of the middle ring
One-way bearings can withstand one-way axial loads, and two-way bearings can accommodate two-way axial loads (neither can bear radial loads)
Main applicable cages: steel plate stamping cages, copper alloy or phenolic resin cutting cages, synthetic resin forming cages
Main uses: automotive steering pins, machine tool spindles
Thrust cylindrical roller bearings
It consists of a washer-shaped raceway ring (shaft ring, seat ring) and a cylindrical roller and cage assembly. The cylindrical rollers are convex so that the pressure between the rollers and the raceway surface is evenly distributed
It can withstand one-way axial loads
The axial load capacity is large and the axial rigidity is also strong
The main applicable cage: copper alloy cut cage
Main uses: oil drilling rigs, iron and steel machinery
The split bearing consists of a raceway ring with a needle roller and cage assembly, and can be combined with a thin stamped raceway ring (W) or a thick cut raceway ring (WS).
Non-separable bearings are monolithic bearings consisting of precision-stamped raceway rings, needle rollers, and cage assemblies
It can withstand one-way axial loads
These bearings take up little space and facilitate the compact design of machinery
In most cases, only needle rollers and cage assemblies are used, and the mounting surfaces of the shaft and housing are used as raceway surfaces
The main applicable cages: steel plate stamping cage, synthetic resin forming cage
Main uses: Transmission devices for automobiles, cultivators, machine tools, etc
Thrust tapered roller bearings
These bearings are equipped with round table rollers (the large end is spherical), and the rollers are accurately guided by the raceway ring (shaft ring, housing ring) flange
The design is such that the vertices of the raceway surfaces of the shaft and housing rings and the conical surfaces of the roller rolling surfaces intersect at a point on the bearing centerline
One-way bearings can withstand one-way axial loads, and two-way bearings can accommodate two-way axial loads
The two-way bearing matches the middle ring with the shaft, but due to the clearance fit, the middle ring must be axially positioned with a bushing, etc. The main applicable cage: copper alloy cut cage
Main uses: one-way: crane hook, oil rig swivel
Bi-directional: rolling mill roll neck
Thrust spherical roller bearings
In this type of bearing, the spherical rollers are arranged in an inclined manner, and because the raceway surface of the housing ring is spherical, it has self-aligning properties, so that the shaft can be tilted a little
The axial load capacity is very large, and it can withstand several radial loads in addition to axial loads
Oil lubrication is generally used when using
The main applicable cage: copper alloy cut cage
Main uses: hydroelectric generators, vertical motors, propeller shafts for ships, reducers for rolling screws in steel rolling mills, tower cranes, coal mills, extruders, forming machines.
