Classification of thrust bearings:
Thrust bearings are divided into thrust ball bearings and thrust roller bearings. Thrust ball bearings are further divided into thrust ball bearings and thrust angular contact ball bearings. The raceway ring, which is composed of a washer with a raceway, a ball and a cage assembly, is called a shaft ring, and a raceway ring that is mated to the housing is called a seat ring. The two-way bearing mates the center ring with the shaft, and the one-way bearing can bear the one-way axial load, and the two-way bearing can bear the two-way axial load. The bearing with the spherical mounting surface of the housing ring has self-aligning performance, which can reduce the impact of installation errors. This type of bearing is mainly used in automobile steering mechanism and machine tool spindle.
Thrust roller bearings are divided into thrust cylindrical roller bearings, thrust spherical roller bearings, thrust tapered roller bearings, and thrust needle roller bearings.
Thrust cylindrical roller bearings are mainly used in oil drilling rigs, iron and steel machinery. The difference between one-way thrust ball bearings and two-way thrust ball bearings:
One-way thrust ball bearings - one-way thrust ball bearings consist of a shaft washer, a bearing race, and a ball and cage thrust assembly. The bearing is separable, so installation is simple because the gasket and ball can be installed separately from the cage assembly.
There are two types of small unidirectional thrust ball bearings, either with a flat seat or with a spherical race. Bearings with spherical housing rings can be used in conjunction with self-aligning seat washers to compensate for angular misalignment between the support surface in the housing and the shaft.
Two-way thrust ball bearing - The composition of the two-way thrust ball bearing is composed of three parts: a shaft ring, two housing rings and two steel ball-cage components. The bearings are separable, and the individual parts can be mounted independently. The weighing ring mated to the shaft can bear the axial load in both directions, and the shaft can be fixed in both directions. These bearings must not be subjected to any radial load on the vehicle. Thrust ball bearings also have a structure with a seat cushion, because the mounting surface of the seat cushion is spherical, so the bearing has self-aligning performance, which can reduce the impact of installation error.
Two-way bearings use the same shaft washer, housing ring and ball-cage assembly as one-way bearings.
Thrust bearing conditions of use:
Thrust bearings are dynamic bearings, and in order for the bearings to work properly, the following conditions should be met:
1. The lubricating oil has a viscosity;
2. There is a certain relative velocity between moving and static bodies;
3. The two surfaces of relative motion are inclined to form an oil wedge;
4. The external load is within the specified range;
5. Sufficient oil volume.
